About the Game
Originally released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is widely considered one of the most influential video games ever created. Nearly three decades later, Nintendo is bringing Link’s legendary adventure back to life with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake for Nintendo Switch 2.
Launching on November 5, 2026, the remake features completely rebuilt visuals, fully voiced cutscenes, expanded dialogue, enhanced controls, orchestral music, and a variety of modern quality-of-life improvements designed to introduce a new generation of players to one of gaming’s most beloved adventures.
Players once again take on the role of Link, a young Kokiri boy who is chosen by destiny to protect the land of Hyrule from the ambitions of the Gerudo King, Ganondorf. Along the way, Link will travel through time, awaken the Seven Sages, explore iconic dungeons, uncover powerful items, and ultimately determine the fate of the kingdom.
While the heart of the original adventure remains intact, Nintendo has introduced several new features to make the journey feel fresh. The remake includes improved camera controls, additional character interactions, fully voiced story sequences, a new progression-tracking system called Threads of Time, and even microphone support that allows players to hum learned ocarina melodies and have Link perform them in-game.
Nintendo has also expanded support through ZELDA NOTES, an optional companion experience available through the Nintendo Switch App. Players can track their progress, complete challenges, play a virtual ocarina, and test their knowledge with thousands of Ocarina of Time trivia questions.
For longtime fans, this remake offers a chance to revisit one of Zelda’s most iconic adventures with modern technology. For newcomers, it may be the perfect opportunity to experience the game that helped define the action-adventure genre.
As someone who grew up with the original Nintendo 64 release, I’m incredibly excited to return to Hyrule. While it may take some time to get used to certain visual changes, especially the updated character designs, I’m keeping an open mind and looking forward to experiencing this reimagined version of one of my favorite games of all time.
This page will continue to be updated with news, walkthroughs, dungeon guides, collectibles, character profiles, boss strategies, secrets, and everything else we discover after the game’s release.

My First Impressions
As someone who grew up with the Nintendo 64 version of Ocarina of Time, seeing this remake finally become a reality still feels surreal.
One aspect I’m still getting used to is the new appearance of Link and Princess Zelda. Their updated designs have a slightly more doll-like look compared to what I imagined, but after comparing them to the original character models and artwork, the differences really aren’t as dramatic as some people make them out to be.
What makes me a little sad is seeing so many fans argue over character designs before anyone has had the chance to actually play the game. I understand the concerns, but I also believe it’s important to experience the final product before rushing to judgment.
If the remake ultimately isn’t for you, that’s completely okay. The original Nintendo 64 release and the Nintendo 3DS version still exist and remain fantastic ways to experience this legendary adventure.
Personally, I’m choosing to keep an open mind and focus on what excites me most: returning to Hyrule and experiencing Ocarina of Time all over again.
