A narrative orchestral event featuring music from Silent Hill, Halo, and Diablo.
Toronto is officially the next stop for “Heroes: A Video Game Symphony” The concert is scheduled for September 17, 2026, at 8:00 PM at The Bowl at Sobeys Stadium.
This production is led by Jason Michael Paul, the founder of JMP Entertainment. For those familiar with the history of game music in concert halls, Paul was the producer behind the first Final Fantasy concerts, as well as the 25th Anniversary concerts for The Legend of Zelda and The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses (I know, right!?)
A Different Kind of Setlist
Unlike concerts that focus on a single franchise, “Heroes” pulls from a massive variety of titles. The show is structured around Joseph Campbell’s “monomyth” narrative, with each musical piece representing a different chapter in a hero’s journey.
The performance will feature scores from:
- The Elder Scrolls & Baldur’s Gate
- God of War & Assassin’s Creed
- Metal Gear Solid & Castlevania
- Halo, Fallout, and Diablo
To add a visual layer, the music is accompanied by game projections and narration by Nigel Carrington, a BAFTA-nominated narrator and the voice of the acclaimed independent video game “Dear Esther”.
Special Guest: Akira Yamaoka
The evening will feature the presence of Akira Yamaoka, a composer, producer, and performer who has been instrumental in shaping the history of video game music. His work on franchises such as Silent Hill, Contra, and Snatcher represents a distinct approach where music acts as identity and atmosphere rather than just accompaniment.
Attendees who purchase the VIP experience will gain access to an exclusive meet-and-greet, offering a rare opportunity to interact directly with Yamaoka. He has expressed excitement about reconnecting with audiences both on stage and in person, noting that fans will have a “rare opportunity to step into the world of the unforgettable.”
