My First Impressions

As someone who grew up with the Nintendo 64 version of Ocarina of Time, seeing this remake finally become a reality still feels surreal.

One aspect I’m still getting used to is the new appearance of Link and Princess Zelda. Their updated designs have a slightly more doll-like look compared to what I imagined, but after comparing them to the original character models and artwork, the differences really aren’t as dramatic as some people make them out to be.

What makes me a little sad is seeing so many fans argue over character designs before anyone has had the chance to actually play the game. I understand the concerns, but I also believe it’s important to experience the final product before rushing to judgment.

If the remake ultimately isn’t for you, that’s completely okay. The original Nintendo 64 release and the Nintendo 3DS version still exist and remain fantastic ways to experience this legendary adventure.

Personally, I’m choosing to keep an open mind and focus on what excites me most: returning to Hyrule and experiencing Ocarina of Time all over again.
