Nintendo just dropped another batch of retro games for Nintendo Switch Online, bringing in three classic titles from the NES and Game Boy era! This time, we’re getting:

  • The Mysterious Murasame Castle (1986) – NES
  • Devil World (1984) – NES
  • Castlevania Legends (1998) – Game Boy

It’s a solid mix of action and nostalgia, but what makes this update even more special is that both The Mysterious Murasame Castle and Devil World were never officially released in North America before—until now!

Let’s take a closer look at what these games bring to the table:

Castlevania Legends (Game Boy – 1998)

This Game Boy classic puts you in the shoes of Sonia Belmont, a young vampire hunter long before the events of the original Castlevania. Armed with the legendary whip, Sonia takes on Dracula himself in an intense side-scrolling adventure. The game features Soul Weapons, which you can earn from bosses, and Burning Mode, which grants temporary invincibility—perfect for those tough moments.

The Mysterious Murasame Castle (NES – 1986)

If you love fast-paced action, this Japan-exclusive title is a must-play! You step into the role of Takamaru, a samurai warrior tasked with infiltrating four enemy castles to uncover the dark force controlling Murasame Castle. With sword combat, shurikens, and intense enemy waves, this one plays like a mix of Zelda and Ninja Gaiden—and it’s finally available outside Japan!

Devil World (NES – 1984)

This is a real piece of Nintendo history! Created by Shigeru Miyamoto, this quirky maze game has you playing as Tamagon, a little dragon, who takes on the Devil himself. You’ll need to collect dots, dodge fire, and escape shifting mazes—all while the Devil literally moves the screen, making things way harder than they seem.

If you haven’t jumped into F-Zero 99 yet, now’s the time! Race against 98 other players, master your Spin Attack, and collect Super Sparks to dominate the leaderboard.
