Starting on December 2nd, a special event is kicking off that you won’t want to miss. Here’s your step-by-step guide to claiming your rewards and catching the Genetic Pokémon!
Step 1: Claim Your Mega Stones via Mystery Gift
The first and most important step is getting the items that unlock Mewtwo’s special mission: Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y!
- When: Starting December 2nd
- How: Use the Mystery Gift feature in your Pokémon Legends: Z-A game.
- Method: Select “Get via Internet” from the Mystery Gift menu.
These stones are key! You can use them to Mega Evolve Mewtwo into the physical powerhouse Mega Mewtwo X or the special-attacking beast Mega Mewtwo Y once you’ve caught it. Make sure they show up in your satchel’s Mega Stones pocket!
Step 2: Complete the Main Story
Before you can face Mewtwo, you need to prove yourself as a top trainer.
- Requirement: You must have completed the main story of Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
Once the main story is finished and you have both Mega Stones, Mewtwo’s special extra side mission will officially become available!
Step 3: Head to Lysandre Café
The mission starts once you have the Mega Stones in your possession.
- Destination: Lysandre Café
It seems the energy from the Mega Stones will reactivate certain systems deep within Lysandre Labs—the perfect setup for a legendary encounter! Follow the mission markers from the café and venture into the Labs to find Mewtwo.
